38th Lehigh Paul Short Run underway on the Goodman Campus

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – The 38th annual Lehigh University Paul Short Run presented by Brooks is underway Friday on Lehigh’s Goodman Campus Cross Country. More than 5,000 runners from 450 colleges and high schools will compete on the day.
Both Lehigh teams competed in the College Gold races Friday morning. Senior Evans Kosgei led the way for the Mountain Hawks on the men’s side, finishing tenth in the men’s 8K with a time of 24:25. Lehigh’s men finished 20th in the 45 team field with a score of 568. Sophomore Paul Chelimo of UNC Greensboro won the men’s College Gold 8K, in 23:55. Oklahoma captured the men’s team title with 34 points. The Sooners had four runners finish in the top seven.
On the women’s side, Lehigh finished 24th out of 45 with 736 points. Senior Katherine Pierce was the top female finisher completing the 6K race in 21:44, good for 66th place. Bogdana Mimic of Villanova won the race in 20:10, while Providence College took the team title with 101 points. The Friars had three top-ten individuals and four of the top-12 in the race.
