Lehigh senior linebacker Al Pierce was named the Patriot League’s Defensive Player of the Week on Monday following his performance in the Mountain Hawks’ season-opening 28-14 win at Drake Saturday night. Pierce led the Mountain Hawks with nine tackles and had two of Lehigh’s seven sacks plus a forced fumble that helped Lehigh put the game away.
Senior Liz Carlos tallied a hat trick on Sunday to lift Lehigh to a 3-2 win over Quinnipiac at the Ulrich Sports Complex. Carlos scored two goals in the first half and added a penalty kick in the second as head coach Eric Lambinus earned his first win with the Mountain Hawks. With the victory, Lehigh improves to 1-0-1 on the season.
