Recently graduated Lehigh women’s lacrosse standout Julie McBrien will play in the 2013 Intercollegiate Women’s Lacrosse Coaches Association/Under Armour North-South All-Star Game this Sunday, May 26. The game will start at 11:30 a.m. on the campus of Cabrini College in Radnor, Pa. McBrien becomes the third Mountain Haw in as many years selected for the prestigious event.
Five athletes from Lehigh’s men’s and women’s track and field teams will be competing at the NCAA East Regional, which begins Thursday in Greensboro, N.C. Senior Devin Monroe will sprint in the 400 meter dash to represent the men’s team along with high jumpers sophomore Adeolu Adesida and junior captain Pat Ciez. Junior Jimil Ataman and senior E’lana Lemon will compete in the hammer throw.
Lehigh seniors Brian Hess and Ryan Snyder have been named USILA Scholar All-Americans, as announced on Tuesday. The two honorees were the most in the Patriot League, joining Army’s Brendan Buckley, Bucknell’s Mike Huffner and Colgate’s Peter Baum as five of the more than 90 individuals across Division I, II and III recognized.
The Lehigh wrestling program was recognized for its work in the classroom as the National Wrestling Coaches Association announced its All-Academic Individuals and top 30 teams late Monday. The Mountain Hawks tied for sixth in the country with a 3.23 team GPA, while seniors Robert Hamlin and Shane Welsh and junior Joey Napoli were named to the individual All-Academic Team.
